Game of thrones Festival 16 September 2018 Castleward

Step into the world of Westeros for the day at Castle Ward and join the residents of Winterfell as they face an ancient foe in the form of the White Walkers.

Soak up the atmosphere at the King’s Tournament Games where full contact jousting and enthralling film-set stunts & tricks will make a spectacle fit for entertaining royalty. Watch Winterfell prepare with swordfighting displays, falconry shows and have a taste of battle to have a go with your own bow and arrow.

Life in Westeros

Stand in the very courtyard where Jon Snow taught his brother Bran to shoot a bow and arrow. Explore the clock tower, an iconic feature in the Winterfell landscape and the spot where Bran Stark is pushed from the window by Jamie Lannister.

Experience the sights, sounds and smells of a medieval village and watch skilled blacksmiths, silversmiths, weavers and armourers at work.

Armourer Boyd Rankin, who played Mikken in Game of Thrones, will showcase a selection of the swords he forged for Game of Thrones and two of the original Stark family Direwolf Dogs will be making a special appearance. The Stark’s Grey Wind and Summer are known as Odin and Thor in the real world and are the closest thing to real wolves you’ll ever meet!
